Paper Sizes - مقاسات الورق

المرة دي هنتكلم عن مقاسات الورق القياسية المستخدمة في كل أنحاء العالم بتفاصيلها 

احنا عندنا في الاساس ٣ انواع من مقاسات الورق

A series, B series and C series

وكل مقاسات الورق القياسية بتعتمد انك لو قسمت الطول على العرض النتيجة هتطلع بـ √2 اللي هي تقريبا بتساوي 1.414 ..

طيب بالنسبة لأول نوع وهو الـ A series :

النوع ده بيعتمد ان اكبر مقاس فيه اللي هو الـ A0 مساحته ١متر مربع وزي ما قلنا فوق

انك لو قسمت الطول على العرض هتطلع النتيجة بـ ١٫٤١٤ وكل المقاسات اللي بعد

 الـ A0 كل اللي بتعمله انك بتقسم الطول "اللي هو الاكبر" على ٢ فبيطلعلك المقاس

 اللي بعده

يعني مثلا 

A0=841x1189 mm

A1=841x594 mm

A2=420x495 mm 

اكتر المقاسات الشائعة الاستخدام في العالم كله هو مقاس الـ A4 

واللي هو ٢٩٧ مم x ٢١٠ مم وبعده الـ A3 و الـ A5 اللي هما المقاسين اللي قبله 

واللي بعده

لو حابب اعمل بروشور Bifold ويكون مقاسه مقفول A5 يبقا هعمل مقاسه مفتوح A4

وهيكون فيه في معانا في الآخر تفاصيل مقاسات كل الانواع

تاني نوع هو ال B Series :

النوع ده بقا اكتر نوع مستخدم في الطباعة الاوفسيت واكتر مقاس مستخدم فيه هو

الـ B1 اللي هو ٧٠٧ سم x ١٠٠٠ سم والنوع ده اكبر حاجة بسيطة من 

الـ A series يعني مثلا الـ B1 مقاسه ما بين الـ A0  و الـ A1 وعشان كده بنستخدم

المقاس ده في الطباعة عشان لو انا عايز أطبع ورقتين A4 أو ورقة A3 بستخدم المقاس 

B3 ولو عايز اطبع ورقتين A3 بستخدم المقاس الـ B2 وهكذا فبيوفر عليا في الورق

تالت نوع بقا اللي هو الـ C series :

وهو اكبر شوية من الـ A وأصغر شوية من الـ B وده غالبا بنستخدمه في مقاسات 

الأظرف

يعني مثلا الورقة الـ A4 بتتحط في ظرف مقاسه C4

عشان الورقة الـ A4 مقاسها ٢١٠ مم x ٢٩٧ مم والـ C4 مقاسها ٢٢٩ م x ٣٢٤ مم

وهكذا بقا بالنسبة للـ A5 الظرف بتاعه يبقا C5 وكده

ولو عندنا ورقة C وعايزين نحطها في ظرف يبقا الظرف مقاسه يكون نفس الرقم B

يعني مثلا ورقة C4 الظرف بتاعها B4 وهكذا وده هيبان اكتر في الجدول اللي جاي

اللي هنبين فيه مقاسات الـ ٣ انواع مع بعض

 بس فيه بقا في امريكا الشمالية مقاسات ورق بتاعتهم تقريبا محدش بيستخدمها برا قارة

هي دي تقريبا معظم المقاسات اللي بنستخدمها في شغلنا في اي حاجة تخص الطباعة

وهنكمل كلامنا عن أنواع الورق واستخداماته المختلفة في الطباعة في المقالات اللي جاية

وزي ما وعدتكو المقال اللي فات ده الفايل بتاع الالوان الـ CMYK اللي تقدر تطبعه

بكل سهولة وتستخدمه كـ guid ليك وللعميل بتاعك وانت بتشتغل

This time, we’re going to discuss the standard paper sizes used across the globe in detail. 

In essence, there are 3 basic standard paper size systems: A series, B series and C series. 

All standard paper sizes are based on the fact that if you divide the length by the width, you would end up with √2 which is approximately 1.414

Now, as for the first type which is the A series…

This system is based on the fact that the largest size is A0 which is 1 meter squared.  As mentioned above, if you divide the length by the width, you would end up with approximately 1.414. All other sizes in the A series are derived by dividing the length of the larger size by 2.

For example: 

A0=841x1189 mm

A1=841x594 mm

A2=420x594 mm

The most commonly used size globally is A4 which is 297mm x210 mm, followed by the A3 and A5 which are the sizes immediately before and after A4.

So let's say we’re designing a bi-folded brochure that should be in size A5 once folded. In this case, it would be size A4 when open.

At the end of this article, you will find the detailed measurements of all the different sizes.

The second type is the B-series: 

This is the type most commonly used in offset printing, particularly size B1 which is 707cm x 1000cm. This type is slightly larger than it’s A-series counterpart. For example, B1 is slightly smaller than A0 but larger than A1. This is why the B-series is predominantly used in printing; if you should wish to print 2 A4 sheets, you would print 1 B3 sheet instead. If you should wish to print 2 A3 sheets, you would print 1 B2 and so on….this helps us to save on paper.

Finally, the third type is the C-series:

C-series sheets are slightly larger than their A-series counterparts and slightly smaller than their B-series counterparts and are used mostly in envelopes. For example, an A4 sheet of paper would require a C4 envelope, since the A4 measures 210mm x 297 mm and C4 measures 229mm x 324 mm. Similarly, an A5 sheet of paper would require an envelope of size C5 and so on…

On a similar note, a C-series sheet of paper would require an envelope of size B. For example, a sheet of size C4 would require an envelope of size B4, and so on. This will become clearer upon studying the measurements of the three types of sizes below.

It is important to note that, in North America, there is another system of sizes (the details of which are presented below) that is rarely used elsewhere.

In a nutshell, these are the sizes that are most commonly used in printing. In the next articles, we’ll discuss the different types of paper and their different uses in printing.
